Student Testimonials

Some of our students have been kind enough to give us some feedback regarding their experiences at U of the Blues. We hope these comments will help you make the decision that yes, even you, can learn to play the guitar at U of the Blues, and have a lot of fun coming in every week to play!

Directions to U of the Blues:
Exit off the "Lonesome Highway". Take a left on "Lonely Street", it's right between the "School of Hard Knocks" and the "Heartbreak Hotel". - Casey's (age 10) dad

I became concerned when my son dropped out of band. We enrolled him in guitar lessons with Wade and he really enjoys it. The past two years he has jumped out of bed early on Saturday mornings to attend his lessons. In addition, it has improved his self esteem. Whenever his friends play his guitar, I hear awful, loud noise; however, when my son plays, I hear music and I love it! - Jon's (age 15) mom

Mr. Wade is nice and makes learning guitar fun! - Cameron, age 10

Learning to "Rock" at U of the Blues is better than New England Crab Cakes! Absolutely wonderful - wouldn't change a thing! It's really fun! Now I'm getting better since the first day! - Logan, age 9

Playing the guitar is a great way to express myself! One of the best choices I've made in my life! - Lauren, age 12

"U of the Blues" offers a variety of playing styles that enables one to take a journey to the inner core of one's soul and the center of one's mind. One can only learn his/her "true" artistic limitations by learning to master the "fret" of conciousness and the whole living emotion by immersion of the musical genius within, to enable one's soul to eventually travel full circle to "U of the Blues"! - Logan & Lauren's dad

My 11-year old son has been taking almost 18 months and thinks Mr. Wade is great. Wade is obviously talented, but so relaxed and patient with his students. I feel playing an instrument is critical to a complete education and am thankful we found Wade and Judy. My son really looks forward to each lesson. - Colin's mom

My daughter loves her guitar lessons at U of the Blues. She is one of the youngest students and is learning in leaps and bounds with "Mr. Wade", who makes her grow in confidence every week (if she would ever stop talking to him and play instead!) - Gemma's (age 6) mom

He always has a great selection of songs and always gives me songs that I enjoy playing. He and his wife have great personalities and I enjoy seeing them every week! - Shannon (age 16)

Wade is a very patient teacher, especially with adults just learning to play (like me). He never pressures me to play something perfectly at my next lesson. There aren't ever any "lectures" about how I'm doing, just encouragement to keep up the good work. - Judy, age 49

I joined the U of the Blues as an advanced guitar player. However, I had very little knowledge of how to play blues guitar. Wade showed me how to take what I had already learned and use that to develop a greater understanding of blues music. The one-on-one lesson structure makes it easy for me to tailor the lesson agenda to my personal music interests. After spending 3 years at the U of the Blues, I can easily say that I have never had better guitar instruction. - Nolan, age 17

I tell people at work "I am one lesson closer to quitting my day job"...they think I'm kidding! I wish I had these lessons eight years ago, I would be so much further along. - Jeff, age 36

Mr. Wade is very calm and makes my 6 year old son very comfortable during lessons. I bring Trent's 3 year old sister, who sits with me in the waiting area, and we enjoy the peaceful feeling atmosphere while we listen to Trent learning new songs on his guitar. - Trent's (age 6) mom

My daughter Rachel has learned a lot from taking guitar classes. The progress she has made really shows up. Mr. Wade is a great teacher, he always gives her songs that she likes in order to keep her motivated. I recommend U of the Blues to anybody that wants to learn how to play guitar. - Katia, Rachel's (age 12) mom
